Big Cedar Lodge
Big Cedar Lodge is in Ridgedale, Missouri, and according to their website, is considered America’s Premier Wilderness Resort, and we would agree. Near Branson, It’s over 4,600 acres in the Missouri Ozark Mountains and is where rustic and luxury meet. Through his conservation commitment, Johnny Morris, the founder of Bass Pro Shop, created Big Cedar Lodge. His mission is that family and friends could enjoy a destination while being outdoors. Big Cedar offers accommodations, restaurants, marinas, golf courses, an activity center, a spa, fishing, and other outdoor adventures.

Top of the Rock
Once you get to the top of the rock, the views are of the Ozarks and Table Rock Lake. It is a must-see visit. As you arrive, amongst the beauty, you’ll see a kiosk. There you’ll pay $10 for entrance and parking. Go forward to see that the scenery is breathtaking. The grounds are spotless. Once parked, you will walk inside the center. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Golf Cart Tour
The golf cart tour is called Top of the Rock Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail. The tour cost about $40 per person at the time of this writing. Top of the Rock Lost Canyon Cave is a self-guided tour in a golf cart. It is best to reserve this tour online because the carts are on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can purchase your tickets at the center, too. Prices vary daily so be sure to check the website for information. After purchasing, have your phone ready so you can sign your driving waiver.
Speed-Metered Golf Carts
The carts hold up to four people. You must be 18 years of age or older to operate them. Be sure to use the restroom before you go, as there aren’t any along the trail. Your activity begins in a speed-metered golf cart. The path will take you down a safely designed scenic trail with cliffs, waterfalls, and bridges. It is even safe for the elderly or disabled to enjoy the adventure.
They have created a cave down at the bottom. The views from your golf cart are impressive. You can pull over and stop to capture pictures of nature shots you like. Once at the bottom, you will see the cave. The cave has a “bat” bar which makes the journey even more fun. You may choose a drink and a snack, and off you go through the rest of the cave.
Cave Food and Drinks
The tour is a 2.5-mile excursion that lasts almost an hour and includes admission to the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum. This tour is both beautiful and exciting. If you are in the area, we recommend trying it. We went in November when the leaves were at the end of change. Each season will bring new colors. We will be back to experience a new season.
