Lake Arrowhead, nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California, is a beautiful alpine resort community that offers a serene getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The area is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, with the sparkling blue waters of Lake Arrowhead surrounded by towering pine trees and majestic mountains.
Pepper Palace
Visitors can partake in outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, boating, and skiing, depending on the season. The charming village of Lake Arrowhead is home to a range of quaint shops, gourmet restaurants, and cozy cabins, creating a welcoming atmosphere for tourists and residents alike. We especially liked the Pepper Palace(shown) and the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory shops in the Village. Be sure to call ahead for lake needs or shop hours to be fully prepared for seasonal changes.

Among the many accommodations in Lake Arrowhead, the Inside Out Cottage stands out as a hidden gem. This cozy cottage, tucked away amidst the lush greenery of trees, offers a unique experience. With its rustic charm and tasteful decor, the Inside Out Cottage provides a comfortable and inviting retreat.
Cozy And Warm Inside
The cottage features a well-appointed living space, a small but equipped kitchen, a single bathroom, and a private outdoor area, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings by opening the sliding glass door wall to the outside.
Whether enjoying the electric fireplace or unwinding on the cottage’s deck, visitors can relax and soak in the natural beauty surrounding the area.
We loved how you could open the doors to enjoy the outside while in the cottage. Perfect for those who need some time to be still. What an excellent feature, especially with the cooler temperatures we felt in June.
One With Nature
The Inside Out Cottage also benefits from its prime location, providing access to what Lake Arrowhead has to offer. Guests can explore the hiking trails that wind through the mountains, take a scenic boat ride across the glistening lake, or take a lovely stroll through the charming village.

What To Know:
The road to the cottage is challenging and can be hard to find. Follow the directions carefully.
A car is best for driving since the road is very narrow and steep.
We found it quite tight with our larger SUV, but it had good power to handle the incline.
In many areas, the road feels as if it is for one car only. Therefore, it is hard to turn a larger car around or pass another.
There were no other drivers than us, so it worked out just fine.
One thing to note-
this cottage is attached to the main house and has a connected door from the interior that stays locked.
The house has a separate entrance which helps the privacy of the cottage.
This cottage is ready to accommodate up to 4 guests, although we suggest two or a family with young children is best for the space.
Please note: There is only a screen covering the window so if you like to sleep in, this might not be the best choice.
While the decking offers plenty of privacy, the morning light is bright and beautiful.
This cottage has one beautiful bathroom with plush towels and offers all the amenities you can think of.
A cozy electric fireplace is there to enjoy while looking out the glass doors. They also have a small refrigerator, tabletop appliances for cooking, and a gas grill on the deck. If the propane is empty, you can exchange it at the local grocery store in Cedar Glen or Blue Jay. They will reimburse you, we know from our experience.
We found it is best to go to the village early in the day. Plan to eat dinner at the cottage to avoid the road in the dark.
This Airbnb allows extended stays as a possibility.
We enjoyed our time and loved the nature of the trees and the relaxation found there.
My favorite part was the sliding doors to the deck and the forest! A great experience!
