St. Augustine, Florida, has to be close to one of my all-time favorite places.
Sentimental reasons have me loving this wonderful place, and it is stunning.
According to citystaug.com, St. Augustine was founded in 1565 and is the oldest occupied settlement in the United States.
They state that before the English colonized Jamestown and the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, the Spanish established themselves at what was then determined to be named St. Augustine.
St. Augustine faces the Atlantic Ocean and is thriving today with beautiful beaches, fantastic scenery, and loads of history to be studied.
Although we didn’t have the time to check it out, Castillo de San Marcos
National Monument looks like a great stop for history.
As we drove by, we could see the fortress was incredible.
I would have loved to be near such valuable history as our kids were growing up.
I plan to do that stop on our next trip to St. Augustine.
The beaches span from Vilano Beach in the north to the Crescent Beach in the south, in the St. Augustine area.
We love how the ocean glistens and sparkles, and you have incredible sunsets for photo ops.
We went to St. Augustine Beach and saw many beautiful shells. The walk to the beach was like being in paradise. It was serene.
This area was more relaxed and a place I could stay for quite a while!
Enjoy the pictures! So pretty they look fake!
I look forward to going back to St. Augustine!
We hope you enjoyed hearing about
St. Augustine, Florida, and can plan to check
